Strainers

Whether you're creating a mixed drink or cocktail, only certain ingredients are required to be served in the final drink, and you don't want a stray ice or pulp in there. As cocktails can come in a variety of texture and presentations—clear, light, smooth, silky, frothy, you name it—strainers help achieve the right texture and elevate the visual appeal.

The Überbartools™ strainers have unique designs and styles, and we'll help find the best cocktail strainer for your needs.

The Hawthorne strainers are most popular and commonly used in many bars. It features a spring-loaded coil that fits perfectly into a shaker tin. This strainer comes in various numbers of prongs, tightness of the coils, handle style and length, and overall shape and design of the strainer head to suit different preferences. The Überbartools BarRay™ and StrainRay™ are Hawthorne strainers and inspired by the shape of manta rays—which in reference to the actual manta rays, offers effective filtering of ice and fruit pulps.

The Julep strainer is perfect for the classic Mint Juleps and stirred cocktails that use large ice. It often has a circular shape with a shallowly curved base that perfectly sits on a mixing glass, doubles as an ice scoop, and the small holes allow liquid to effectively filter through. The Juliep strainer has a trilobal shape to add a unique design to your tools.

The Fine mesh strainer or Snub Nose Fine strainer is best used for cocktails with delicate ingredients like egg whites or muddled fruit to achieve a silky and smooth texture by filtering the tiny ingredients and large bubbles. It is commonly used alongside the Hawthorne strainer for better filtering and achieving the desired texture.
